Upcoming Insight publication for young digital citizens
We've been busy with our youth council (ECDG) since our 2019 summer workshop in Athens, creating an activity book for primary schools. All Aboard for DigiTown!, a 72-page publication structured on the Council of Europe's digital citizenship model and adapted to European elementary school curricula, will be launched in May.
Smart home - time to think about what that really means!!
An interesting article in the British Observer points out that everything in a "smart" home, from light bulbs to thermostats, could be collecting and using your data. It's worthwhile doing a quick check on your home and your online habits to see just how much data you and your family are giving away.
Insight at UNESCO's Mobile Learning Week in Paris
Join us at 12 midday on Monday 2 March (Room III) at the UNESCO headquarters to share a light lunch and hear about the SmartBus project. So far, 5,000 teens have participated in the programme that has been running since October in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Digital citizenship - the youth perspective
Last week at an event jointly organised by Insight, ECDG and DigiQ in Bratislava, young people met with experts and government officials to celebrate SID and reflect on digital citizenship together. They voted on actions to be taken to help young people become digital citizens. The winning action... workshops!!

SMART Bus tour launches in Netherlands on 28 October 2019
Creator of the pedagogical content and lead researcher, Insight is partnering Huawei, Forum Europe and event organiser LEF this semester to implement a SMART Bus that is visiting schools across Belgium and The Netherlands. A magician is animating the sessions, making this a fun way for 11-14 years to hone their skills as responsible digital citizens.
